Revolvograph
2014

The revolvograph is a digital camera designed to create abstract coloured patterns by spinning it at 1500 rotations per minute.

The combination of a high speed rotating motor with a digital camera connected to it. The camera is recording videos at 25 frames per second while at the same time spinning at 25 rotations per second (1500 rpm). For every frame of the video, the camera does a full revolution on itself. The effects created are abstract moving patterns of colours in concentric circles. The lens can be mounted in different positions to create different patterns.

In 2015, the music video 88888888 for Flavien Berger’s first album was shot entirely with the revolvograph.
